What are the drugs most effective chemotherapy for liver cancer?
Can anyone tell me in the right direction as to whether a drug is better than another or whether a combination of medications is most effecit, especially with Gemzar?

Chemotherapy does not work well for liver cancer.
If lucky, it is 10% chance of response.
Note that I say "answer" no cure.
If the cancer is small, or limited to 1 lobe of the liver, it should ideally be removed.
If the cancer is due to underlying cirrhosis, in the ideal of a liver transplant should be done.
If the patient is too fragile to withstand major surgery, and radiofrequency ablation should be done.
If this is not an option, then brought the radiotherapy should be considered.
Again, the chemo should not be the first line of treatment if the cancer has not spread.
If, unfortunately, it has spread beyound the liver, then u can try any number of Chemos.
Commonly used are Flurouracil and adriamycin.
Both have respose rate of about 7-10%.
