My mother in law is 6o years old has smoked for years and has type 2 diabetes, she had liver cancer?
It has been said, after many trials she has lesions on the liver and sometimes on her lung the docs told him that there is greater chance of cancer.
she seems a little jaundice and a buildup of fluid in her ankles and feet a loss of appetite.

It may not have liver cancer as often presents as a solitary lesion.
Multiple lesions are more compatible with metastatic disease.
Lung Mets generally show that multiple lesions, well, mostly at the base of the lungs.
Doctors do not know how to treat it before knowing what kind of cancer they are dealing with and it sounds like that is what they do now.
