Is consumption of SevenSeas Cod Liver Oil safe for health?
In India, it is manufactured by Universal Medicare Pvt. Ltd. under the Brand Name SEACOD. What should be the recommended daily dose? I have heard that cod liver oil contains toxins which the fish might have consumed in polluted waters and that it can cause cancer in the long run. Is this true?

I’ve never heard of the company myself, but you can call them and ask them. Ask them specifically if they use Molecular Distillation and that will tell you if there are any of the harmful toxins (Mercury, Lead, and any other heavy metals, for example)… if they don’t, I wouldn’t buy it. It’s true that taking in too many of those heavy metals is very toxic whether it’s taken all at once or over time. If you ingested heavy metals, it’s possible it could cause cancer or many other diseases/ailments, but nobody knows what causes cancer for sure at this time… it will for sure make you sick.
As far as the daily recommendation, it’s normally listed on the bottle, but it should be around 1 teaspoon daily (1 tablespoon daily if it’s emulsified) normally. Good luck!
